Clean the Affected Area and Rinse It

The first step is to trim the hair grown around the hot spot. Then, clean the dead skin or remove pus from the wound gently since these spots could be very painful. For cleaning, you must prepare a herbal rinse to relieve the pain and prevent the growth of bacteria.

• Crabapple flower essence: 10 drops.
• Himalayan salt: ½ teaspoon.
• Cold filtered water: 4 oz.
• Rose water: 4 oz.
• Echinacea Tincture: 10 drops

Mix the ingredients mentioned above and put them in a spray bottle with a gentle mist. Then, mist the area and let it dry. Do this 2 to 3 times daily for a few days.

Apply Herbs to Boost Healing Process

So, now you must be wondering what can I put on my dog's hot spots to heal them quickly? Well, you can use an ointment made with calendula as it soothes the skin by reducing itchiness and inflammation. Or else, you may also apply aloe vera gel on the sore spot, because it contains enzymes that heal an itchy skin rash.

Moreover, you can use a mist of goldenseal and calendula in the case of dry and painful hot spots. To prepare this, add ten drops of each in water and use 2-3 times a day.

However, if there is scabbing or drainage, avoid applying anything, or else the hot spot might clog.

Conclusion

Summing it up, taking your dog to the vet may be costly and ineffective. In addition, the medication might make the dog prone to various other diseases. So, it is best to treat your dog’s hot spots by yourself with natural remedies.
