Taming Belligerent India

Peace and stability in South Asia cannot be achieved unless India agrees to a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.

From day one till today, India has been opposing Pakistan at the international level. At the national level too, India has always spared no effort to destroy peace and stability in Pakistan. India can be gauged from the fact that the Hindu-majority country has maintained its illegitimate dominance over Kashmir for more than seventy years. The United Nations has repeatedly passed resolutions against India, but the United Nations has failed to implement them in letter and spirit.

Pakistan has repeatedly exposed India at the international fora. Whether it is a matter of carrying out terrorist acts in Pakistan from Afghanistan or funding the insurgent groups to worsen the situation in Balochistan, Pakistan has been taking the matter to the United Nations. India also launched a well-orchestrated propaganda campaign against Pakistan in the form of Indian Chronicles on social media to destabilize and defame Pakistan, which was exposed by the EU DisinfoLab. India was involved in attacking the Sri Lankan team during its visit to Pakistan in March 2009 to make Pakistan unsafe for international cricket.

India did it again in September 2021 by generating and sending a fake email regarding so-called security threats posed to the New Zealand cricket team during its visit to Pakistan. That email became the chief reason behind the abrupt cancellation of Kiwi's tour to Pakistan, a cricket-crazy nation.

However, despite the excellent security arrangements, the cancellation of the New Zealand series was seen as a major setback in the history of international cricket and the cancellation of the bilateral series between Pakistan and New Zealand all of a sudden, was simply an Indian conspiracy hatched against Pakistan.

Will India refrain from interfering in Pakistan's internal affairs?

This is a question that is not premature, but must be raised time and again considering India's track record since its independence from British rule in August 1947. The world knows that India is an extremist country where minorities do not have equal rights and the country must be condemned because it is the biggest obstacle to world peace.

The way India is promoting hostility towards Pakistan could prove to be very frightening for future generations and a face-off between the nuclear armed nations would not be a positive sign for peace and stability in the region. India has gone so far in its hostility towards Pakistan that it devotes a large portion of its budget to arms purchases.

The clear proof with regards to the vulnerability of India's nuclear programme is that some time ago two Indians were caught selling uranium in the open market, while the world is silent on ensuring a transparent investigation into the matter.

Isn't India being handled by the United Nations?

Peace and stability in South Asia cannot be achieved unless India agrees to a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.

If the world wants the two nuclear powers in South Asia to refrain from fighting each other, the United Nations should convince India to call back its military troops, abide by the international law and resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.

To tame belligerent India, the United Nations should also stop the country from interfering in Pakistan's internal and external affairs, otherwise the situation in the region could become more tense.
