Promises and Piecrusts

Neil Cavuto, senior vice president, anchor and managing editor of Business News for both Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, is among those who are concerned that President Biden may return the U.S. to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). On May 8, 2018, President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the setup alleging that the agreement “a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made.”
The Iran nuclear deal framework (JCPOA) was a preliminary framework agreement reached in 2015 between Iran and a group of world powers: the P5+1 (UN Security Council Permanent Members -- the U.S., U.K., Russia, France, and China -- plus Germany and the European Union.)
Cavuto has invited Roxy Rosenbottom, director, American Middle East Region Prospects (MERP), a Washington, DC think tank, and Israel’s Fox-like Channel 20’s popular host Yinon Magal.
MERP donors include a herd of fossil fuel sector’s players.
Cavuto initiates the program, after briefly introducing his guests: “Yinon and Roxy, we start with an agreement that it will be disaster if Biden takes America back into JCPOA…”
“Neil,” snaps Magal, “Aren’t we seeing Iranian arrogance from the word go… rather before the go word. They are asking for a commitment that the U.S. will not again leave the nuclear deal…”
“Yinon, yes, Ali Bagheri Kani, their new chief negotiator and deputy foreign minister has told this to the British newspaper, The Guardian…”
Cavuto sharply adds, “Would you guys wonder… The Guardian, the hard left…”
“Neil, that’s the tip of the thing… the arrogant require an agreement on a means of verifying that U.S. sanctions had both been lifted and had a practical impact on trade with Iran…”
“Are these guys serious,” Rosenbottom, nearly topples his laptop, “So, Iran wants us promote its trade too…”
Cavuto, hurriedly offers, “The wise words of Donald J. Trump… a horrible one-sided deal… I find that they want an independent body being responsible for verification… and then we have Kani touring European capitals to set out the Iranian negotiating position… all this when the world knows how anti-Semitic Iran is.”
Magal, mimicking disappointment adds, “How do you see this… Neil… Roxy… Biden going this route, when we have Douglas Emhoff [husband of Vice President Kamala Harris], [Biden’s son-in-law] Dr. Howard Krein and [daughter-in-law] Melissa Cohen… none of them is goy! And this Kani thing questioning how domestic laws of the U.S. can prevail over an international agreement. Isn’t it the international law?”
Cavauto, raising his thumb in approval, adds, “Iran has also ruled out discussions on their missile and security program being included in the agreement… Really! Are they serious?
“What do you say, Roxy and Yinon on this that Biden made the commitment, which addresses one of Iran’s key negotiating demands, in a joint statement issued with Germany, France and the U.K., on the sidelines of the G20 in Rome. And there Biden told reporters, ‘We're continuing to suffer from the very bad decisions President Trump made to pull out of the JCPOA.’
“What I am concerned with, and Roxy and Yinon too would share the same that how and indeed why would the U.S. do anything without first seeking permission from Israel…”
Magal quickly shoots, “Of course, the world is concerned over this and not just our prime minister [Naftali] Bennett, especially when we see the abundant non-goy presence around Biden.”
Rosenbottom offers, “Biden needs to see what we have been up against. You know, Craig D. Lounsbrough, an author, said that at the point that our promises have become tactics to get what we want from them.”
Magal, caressing a framed photo of former prime minister Benjamin (BB) Netanyahu, shoots hurriedly, “As I mentioned earlier that despite our reposing confidence that so many non-goyim surround Biden nearest to his heart, BB was most accommodating… something that we never do and have never done. He stressed that before making any move Biden should consult not only with Israel, but also with Arab allies in the region.”
Cavuto, wrapping up his program adds, “Yinon and Roxy, I would say that despite our fears, I would have the United States scoring a public relations win by rejoining JCPOA… and at any moment, Israel demands, Washington should slide out of it, and convey to Iran in un-shrouded language that promises, and pie-crusts are made to be broken. Period.” ![]()
