ICC or Indian Cricket Council?
How the Champions Trophy 2025 was played and ended up in a place other than the host nation Pakistan must be considered eye-opening for Pakistan in general and international cricket in particular. Depriving Pakistan of the event’s grandeur and central focus, the tournament’s faulty schedule was entirely customized to serve the Indian cricket team from day one, while the host team and all the international cricket teams were moving from one city to another country to play their matches. However, the Indian team, stuck in one place, i.e., Dubai, was an exception. A short while ago, the Asian Cup was also played the same way, when all Asian sides played their matches in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, while India only enjoyed playing their games in Sri Lanka. Marking the end of the gentlemen’s game and sportsman spirit, the trend suggests the International Cricket Council (ICC) is now operating as an Indian Cricket Council, hijacking the world’s second most popular sports by fair means or foul.
Ceasefire Violation Again
Israel can be referred to as the most rogue nation in the world. From its inception, the country has no regard for human rights or moral and ethical boundaries. Yet again, Israel has violated the so-called ceasefire agreement that was agreed upon a month earlier and has killed hundreds of Palestinians in connivance with Washington with no impunity whatsoever, that too in the holy month of Ramadhan. Though it is now quite clear that the lives of the Palestinians don’t matter to the international community, the precedent set by Tel Aviv has disastrous ramifications for global peace, paving the way for other countries to transgress any legal, ethical, and moral codes and cherished boundaries in the name of war. It appears the Palestinians have been left at the mercy of their fate as the world is no longer interested in saving them from Israel’s wrath.
Brainwashing by Bollywood
The newly-released historical action film Chhaava, based on the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, who was the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, is another blatant attempt to brainwash the Indian people by distorting history and maligning the image of Muslim emperors. This time, Aurangzeb, the 17th-century Mughal emperor, has been ill-projected by inculcating sheer negativity and character assassination orchestrated by the Indian film industry mainly to appease Hindutva sentiments. Consequently, communal violence has erupted in many places across India over the proposed destruction of the tomb of the sixth Mughal emperor, and a mass social media campaign is in full swing in this regard. As far as Narendra Modi’s rule remains intact, there’s no stopping brainwashing by Bollywood.
