TV Serial
Serial Killer
Sara the Saviour
A Green Entertainment production, the TV serial ‘Serial Killer’ is written by Umera Ahmad and directed by Fahad Noor. Sara Sikandar, played by Saba Qamar, is the lead protagonist.
The TV serial is about a crime investigation unit and highlights the corruption in the police force and media. As Sara returns to Pakistan, she is under the illusion that things will have changed in the country. However, that illusion remains an illusion as things have not improved in the country.
Sara joins the police force and vows to change the system. She takes charge and is assigned the case of a young woman who, after having been physically assaulted, is brutally murdered, and her dead body is locked in a red suitcase.
The drama opens on the note of a cloaked woman figure wearing a red shoe and a pearl anklet as she engages with a man. Suddenly, the woman disappears into the mist. The question that leaves the viewer confused is whether Sara Sikandar is the murdered woman or not. The two have the same voice. Is Sara playing a double role? As Sara visits Mr. Manan, the additional director, she clarifies to him that she is not weak just because she is a woman. She fights for women’s empowerment.
She brings out the corruption of journalists who give breaking news every hour to earn money from reporting sensational news! The credibility of the news is questionable. Whether or not the news is true or false is secondary. What matters is who brings the news to light first, just like a lawyer who works on evidence. In the same way, journalists also work on proof. However, the question is who is innocent and who the perpetrator of the crime is, which can only be decided after a thorough investigation. Reward and punishment go hand in hand, and Sara fights for justice and has many hurdles and obstacles come her way. But she doesn’t give up!
She makes her entire team investigate the case properly. She collects fingerprints, the clothes of the victim, the DNA report, and everything she can lay her hands on. As she unzips the suitcase, she finds a hair and preserves it in the bag. She does not let any evidence or proof slip from her hold.
An embodiment of a true woman, Sara is courageous, bold, fearless, and a saviour for all women.
