A Cave of Stone Age near Thatta
A cave of the stone age has recently been discovered in the Marui Mountain near Thatta.

A cave that is said to be of the Stone Age was accidentally discovered in the Marui Mountain that is part of Kohistans mountainous Range some 40 Kilometers away from Thatta, Sindh.
The cave surfaced during the extraction of the mountain under the K4 project. As the news of the discovery broke out, people from different walks of life, history-buffs and a large number of youngsters gathered there to witness the discovery.
According to the locals, they found a cave, remnants of a welling fountain, and beautifully carved stones fastened in the walls of that cave. All those were presumed to be of the age of human evolution. The cave stretching over one kilometer is an attestation of human evolution.

Historians and archeologists have expressed their happiness over this instantaneous discovery saying that it would further enhance the historical importance of district Thatta.
Chairman of Sindhi Language Authority and former director of Archeology department Dr. Mohammad Ali Manjhi said that the cave showed that Thatta was a historically rich part of the world even in the old ages adding that these sites must be owned and preserved by the archeology department.
"It is an idiosyncratic discovery; some are calling it a miracle of nature, however proper research is required to ascertain its historical importance,'' said Ramzan Memon, Chairman of Sindhi Adabi Sangat. A team of archeologists visited the cave accidentally discovered a couple of days ago during the extraction of Maruu mountain part of Kohistani mountainous range here on Monday.
The team led by Dr. Mohammad Ali Manjhi and Abdul Fateh Sheikh that also included Ms. Zahid Qazi and conservator Sarfaraz Jatoi, entered the cave to determine the historical background of the cave. They also took pictures of the cave, the remnants of the fountain, and beautifully carved stones fastened in the cave. There was also a tunnel stretching over hundred kilometers that was yet to be completely discovered.
According to the initial report of the archaeology department, the cave is of special significance owing to its historical background that dates back to the stone age. Historian Dr. Mohammad Ali Manjhi shedding light on its background said " It can be said that discovery of this cave is a miracle and it belongs to the age of Human evolution".
Director Archeology Abdul Fateh said that the outermost part of the cave was narrow, however the inner part was quite wide, showing that it could have been used either as the house or as a hideout during the wars in the old ages.
Manjhi said that since there were several tunnels inside the cave they would seek the help of the geology department for exploring them.
They urged the district administration to stop people from entering the cave as there are massive rocks inside the cave that can be life-threatening. Soon a high-profile research would be launched to explore further facts related to this cave they vowed.![]()
