Banning PTI?
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah says the government is mulling legal options to declare PTI a banned outfit. Has the PDM government completely lost its mind and is something personally wrong with Sanaullah per se as he seems unable to see the writing on the wall or learn from the past? Other than settling their political scores out of personal vendetta, proscribing PTI on terrorism charges will also lead to serious consequences for Pakistan as a nation since PTI’s head Imran Khan is also a former prime minister of the country. Now proving Pakistan’s former PM as the head-honcho of a banned terror outfit will draw the ire of the FATF and drive the final nail in the coffin of a struggling state called Pakistan.
Bapu Obsessions
The final countdown has just begun for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, The fact that Modi’s political journey as the Indian prime minister will end in May next year, he now has the last 12 months to fulfil his pent-up desire to become the part of India’s history as the country’s greatest leader of all time, leaving behind the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. Spending his last days in the premier office, Modi must have many sinister plans up his sleeves to fulfil his dream, with particular reference to Pakistan. Will his penchant to replace Gandhi as Bapu lead Modi to adopt a hasty course to inflict Pakistan, more than what Indira Gandhi did in 1971? Caveat emptor!
Lahore Lahore Aye
When Pakistan Super League (PSL) was first launched, Lahore Qalandars was treated as a laughing stock by all and sundry owing to its consistently poor performance in the initial editions of the franchise Twenty20 cricket league hosted by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Having emerged as one of the leading sides in the last four editions of the PSL, Lahore Qalandars has proved everyone wrong, becoming the first team to win the champions title on the trot. Setting a textbook example of rising from the ashes, Lahore’s phenomenal rise can be best summarized by a Punjabi language phrase, ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’.
