Americans are Exceptional!

Richard “Dicksy” Sturkey, Ph.D., president, Robert Edward Lee Institute of American Exceptionalism, a J Street, Washington, D.C. based think tank, has been invited by Tucker Carlson to Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News -- his nightly political talk show, to discuss the United States State Department’s human rights ‘Red List’ or ‘Countries of Particular Concern (CPC) issued November 17.

The think tank bears Confederate general Gen. Lee’s name, who was overall commander and best known for his service to the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War.

“Dicksy, tonight, let us go to South Asia first. We see that Secretary Blinken has decided to continue with their December 2020 designation of Pakistan as a CPC under the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.

“Tucker, before we go further, you know that Pakistan has not been up to our expectations… if you look around the region… just take the UAE. They have not only recognized Israel but gone full throttle. And here you have Pakistan denying our exceptional rights. Parking is a human right. Right! Like you have overnight street parking as an inalienable right.

“Pakistan, you know refuses to let us park our bombers and drones there.

“Dicksy, what about this USCIRF [US Commission on International Religious Freedom] recommendation that we place India, on our ‘Red List’… CPC list…”

“Tucker, okay, I know. First, I see bias. USCIRF has Khizer Khan on its board… a Pakistani-born naturalized citizen. This recommendation makes it clear that neither he, nor his board have any inkling of how things work in real life. Do they know that in the first nine months of 2019 alone India spent a record $14.5 billion on Russian weapons? Do we raise alarm, or do we massage the Indian ego, so our weapon makers also get orders?

“You know India is our bulwark against China. We need a battle-ready India. Like do we ever list Israel when they are our bulwark in that region. Remember the cold war. While we were nurturing Pakistan, the Russians sold everything and anything to India. We understand that the Indian military cannot operate effectively without Russian-supplied equipment and will continue to rely on its weapons systems in the near and middle terms, a Congressional Research Service (CRS) report has said.

“What does the United States need… a battle hardy front man… Right? Our Administrations, including this one, know that India faces extraordinary pains.

“Like Blinken this year, Mike Pompeo too declined the USCIRF’s recommendation to list India as a CPC. No Secretary of State has acted on its recommendations as far as India is concerned.

“You can’t let your gun rust.”

“But Diksy, while Pakistan is restoring Hindu temples, providing excellent welcome to Sikhs coming for their pilgrimage, you have all this minorities killing going on India.”

“Now, now, Tucker, I expected better from you here. The things India is doing in Kashmir need to be understood in the colonial context. Yes, India has a colony called Kashmir, and when these guys turn up against their ruler, things happen.

“You know the CPC blacklisting paves the way for sanctions if the countries included do not improve their records. Would you risk taking up the moral cudgel against a country that has more than $400 billion sitting in the bank? Have a heart. Being our bulwark, India will buy our weapons too.

“Tucker if you go back, you will see that successive American ambassadors for religious freedom have drawn a sharp distinction between India and Pakistan. I do certainly agree with India that the USCIRF is biased and has a limited understanding of India and its Constitution.

“Pakistan doesn’t have 200 million Hindus, like India has 200 million Muslims. You know how these guys multiply like rabbits. You know like we cull some animals, India needs to do something to stave off being overrun by this minority… to preserve its resources. You know that Muslims just gorge upon beef when cows are Hindu gods. Imagine, an American going to Israel and insisting upon ingesting ham sandwiches for their three meals, when those guys only like bagel and lox! Won’t they get annoyed?

“Diksy you are an expert on American exceptionalism.”

“Tucker, thank you for reminding me. You know the whole thing revolves about the exceptionalism spectrum. Like you own a clock, being its exceptional owner, you have the right to set it. So, being exceptional, the United States sets its own exceptional criteria for human rights or for that matter anything.”
