ZIL and CSR

ZIL Limited has always been a socially responsible company. During the ;peak Covid-19 period, the company, through alliances with different NGOs and Government bodies, donated soap to promote cleanliness among the most vulnerable segments of Pakistani society. The company utilized its marketing platforms to create awareness of Covid prevention through promotion of hand-washing and good hygiene practices. Special supplements carried articles aimed at creating awareness on prevention techniques and routines to be adapted during the pandemic.

The effort was strengthened by issuing public service messages from Capri which highlighted the need to adopt preventive measures as a daily habit. Bloggers and FB group influencers were selected and recruited to spread the message of cleanliness and hygiene during the Covid period. An informative video was released to address the myth and misconceptions about soaps, specifically the types of soaps.

The company took extra care of its employees and set up a Covid-19 Emergency Fund to facilitate diagnosis and treatment. The organization operated remotely by introducing a work from home discipline. Those who tested positive to the virus were given an additional fortnight’s quarantine leave. Employees were facilitated and encouraged to get vaccinated. ZIL can now proudly state that its staff is 100% vaccinated.

In response to the worst calamity the world and Pakistan has ever seen, each of the employees of Zulfeqar Industries Ltd., has contributed in their own way to combat the Corona Virus. Some are augmenting the work of public bodies, while others are filling gaps that might otherwise have been left unfilled.

ZIL has incorporated a number of measures to fight the pandemic on the company platform. These include:
• Wearing masks.
• Cleaning workspaces and shared items such as door handles, computers,
printers, light switches. Etc. as often as possible.
• Placing sanitizers at entrances and providing employees with disinfecting
wipes.
• Reinforcing handwashing procedures and other methods to limit virus
exposure.
• Implementing sanitizing procedures many times during shifts in the factory and in the offices.
• Reducing office capacity by implementing staggered arrival and departure times.
• Modifying workstations or stagger hours to increase space between staff, guests and clients.
• Scheduling video or phone calls instead of face to face meetings.
• 8. Asking delivery drivers to call upon arrival and/or leave items outside the office instead of entering the lobby or reception area. Placing signs at entrances requesting that sick guests do not enter the building.
• Practicing social distancing by maintaining a 1 meter distance between staff and visitors.
• Using alternate greetings.
• Encouraging work from home among executives.

Everyone at ZIL Limited is conscious of their legal and moral responsibility for Hygiene and Safety in the workplace and their environment. They are committed to constantly improving and providing a well maintained healthy and safe environment to all employees, contractors and visitors. We also endeavour to ensure that our community and its members are not placed at risk at any time.

We have also incorporated internal strategies to reduce energy consumption.

Employees are encouraged to minimize the use of air conditioning, switch off room or cubicle lights, printers, monitors and other electronics when not required.

Additionally, a number of initiatives have been taken in factories, depots and haulage to conserve energy.

We have in place several measures to ensure our customers benefit from the highest standards of quality and that we engage in continuous dialogue with them.

Our products are manufactured using mainly natural ingredients, which are disclosed on the packing of each item. At ZIL Limited we follow ISO-9001 quality standard in order to enhance defect-free products.

Looking at the future, while volatility is envisaged in the short-term as ripples of the pandemic continue, in the long-term, growth opportunities are imminent as heightened personal health awareness and vaccinations make the world a relatively safer place.
