The Dynasty Springs from Nawaz Sharif

Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s accusation that her party is pursuing a duplicitous policy in its refusal to use it votes against the government, has angered Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz.
Unsure whom to trust within her own party, she gets on FaceTime with her father, Nawaz Sharif, the three times former prime minister camping in London.
“Papa, good morning from Jati Umra… [the pair of stuffed tigers appear behind her] … your tigers miss you every day…”
“What tigers… what happened to you… they are lions, and I am the Lion of Punjab… nay, the Lion of Pakistan in Avenfield, London… so why are you calling me at this early hour, when the butler doesn’t start serving the first lassi before ten in the morning…”
“Papa, did you see this spoilt kid insulting us… he is threatening that they will force our party to play its role as an opposition party and oust [Punjab chief minister Usman] Buzdar. He is saying that we cannot back out from using vote against the government… this boy has gotten into his mind…”
“My doll, my Maryam… this boy is nothing… he is only reading from what his aunty Sherry [Rehman] is writing for him after clearing it with his father…
“Papa… oh Papa… let me complete my sentence… this boy has gotten into his mind that if Buzdar goes, Imran [Khan] will go…”
With a chuckle, Nawaz adds, “And this boy will become king…”
“Papa, you know how things function… you are living a few steps from the Buckingham Palace… See how Prince Charles threw away his sister and brothers so the throne remains in his line… Papa, you see what I am saying… everyone knows that you are not here…
“Bilawal knows that if Imran goes, he cannot become the ruler with his 56 seats compared to 84 of ours… thank God that we lost in 2018, otherwise [Shahid Khaqan] Abbasi’s dynasty would have started…
“Papa, you have made Uncle Shehbaz the party president and he is leader of opposition, so he will become the ruler… and there is cousin Hamza [Shehbaz Sharif’s son] … and there you have the Shehbaz Sharif dynasty…
“Papa, he is your younger brother, but I have heard from confirmed sources from both the parties that he regularly discusses political developments with Bilawal… you get the drift… Bilawal… or should I say Uncle Shehbaz… is conspiring to sideline the Nawaz Sharif dynasty…”
“My doll you know that I want you to lead the party…”
“Papa you know the reason that I am definitely not in favor of moving any no-confidence against Buzdar or Imran as long as you are not here…
“Our MNAs and MPAs who are close to us and accept me alone as their leader have told me that they are against such a move and are not in favor of any no confidence motion because, in case, it is successful then Uncle Shehbaz and Cousin Hamza would become strong contenders for the top slots in the center and Punjab… I am told that the Shehbaz Camp is in favor of moving the no confidence…
“Papa, you know I have Junaid [Safdar]… he plays polo with the British royalty and the crème of British society… Just like the son of Bhutto’s daughter considers himself worthy of the throne, my Junaid is more qualified… his grandfather was three-time minister… and I have tons of videos of the sitting judges from top to bottom…
“Yes, my brothers [Hasan and Hussain] believes that making money is more fun…”
“My doll, since coming here, I have been working with your nephews Zakariya and Zayid [Hussain Nawaz] to consider their obligations toward the dynasty… we can’t have Punjab and some other places in other hands. My doll, but I was asking Zayd why he is going to King’s College when there is Her Majesty, the Queen and we don’t know when there will be king… he should be playing in the right field, you see what I mean.”
“Papa, good to hear that… but you see that Bilawal is not even married yet... Junaid is and will produce the heirs…the dynasty springs from Nawaz Sharif.”![]()
