Directionless!
The people of Pakistan long for a fundamental change, but every four or five years they are deceived in the name of change.

Pakistan came into being as a result of the great struggle of the Muslims of the subcontinent and the sacrifices of millions of lives. Allama Iqbal's dream and Quaid-e-Azam's vision of Pakistan led to the making of an independent state, where citizens can get a true democratic system based on economic equality, justice, protection of human rights, respect for the law and honesty and integrity which have social advantages. Pakistan was meant to be a place where the rulers would be accountable to the people, the army would be the protector of freedom and sovereignty, the Judiciary is free and independent and capable of delivering speedy justice. In Pakistan, the bureaucracy was supposed to be a servant of the people and the Police and the administration would function as the protectors of the masses.
The country was created for the establishment of a free, independent, stable, Islamic, welfare state, but what about us today? Where do we stand now? At the time of establishment of Pakistan, Muslims were a nation in the Indian subcontinent and that nation was looking for a country whereas today after 75 years the country exists it is still vying for a nation united, firm and well-directed towards the path of progress and development.
In 1947, we were a nation, with the help and support of God, the Lord of Glory, and as a result of the collective efforts of the Muslims of the subcontinent, we got this country. Less than 25 years later, we lost half the country due to our differences. We have now become a scattered and fragmented nation. The biggest problem is the need for unity. At present, there is a struggle for individualism and there is no purpose left for this nation which could unite the disintegrating groups into one unit.
The people of Pakistan long for this fundamental change, but every four or five years they are deceived through electoral fraud in the name of change. As a result of this corrupt system, the curse of incompetent leadership, a non-transparent system coupled with an ineffective government, all kinds of atrocities together are inflicted on this nation.
People are deprived of basic necessities and are forced to commit suicide, while the loss of life and property and terrorism, murder and looting have become their destiny. Unemployment is pushing the new generation to become thieves. Deep-seated ethnic, regional and lingual prejudices are endangering the very existence of the country. The tragedy here is that the powerful elite of the country has become a major cause of an infested status quo. In the current era of democracy, the only successful politician is the one who is good at lying, as all politics is done on false slogans and misleading promises. Topics such as Islam, democracy and “ Roti Kapra aur mukan” are important in these slogans.
Some religious political parties have been using the slogan of Islam but only as an effective tool to grab the seat of power. Similarly, some welfare slogans are raised by political parties, but the shoulders of poor people were used only for reaching the corridors of power. Democracy is also a workable slogan here but in practice it is only a deception to secure one's seat in the Parliament. Accountability is another fake slogan, but as far as change in the real lives of the people is concerned, the result remains negative in all respects.
Our elections revolve around the politics of interests. Earlier the political parties used to present their manifesto to the public but now the trend is almost dead. The public has been deceived into accepting this approach, and now no one publishes a manifesto and no one asks them to come up with a manifesto.
A one-point manifesto is often used to serve the purpose. Just one will say that eradication of corruption is my manifesto, the nation does not know how this eradication will happen? What will be its foreign policy? What will be its educational policy? How will this country be brought out of deficit? How will imports and exports improve? How much employment will be provided?
The ideology of Pakistan is the formation of a just society based on the teachings of Islam and the Islamic way of life. The ideology of Pakistan means the establishment of a separate country for the Muslims, where they can live their lives according to the teachings of Islam and are able to preserve their Islamic values. It is important to remember that secularism is the rule of law in the states that exist on the basis of nationalism, which we call nation-states, while the religion of the Pakistani state is Islam, and thus the supreme power belongs to Allah.
Therefore, the Qur'an and Sunnah are the supreme law of the beloved homeland in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and it has been decided that no law in Pakistan may contradict the Qur'an and Sunnah. Islam is a complete code of conduct, therefore the parliament of Pakistan has confined its authority to the limits set by Islam for living a good life but in practical we are lost of a relentless commitment.
Never thought that we made a pledge for the establishment of Pakistan for which millions of people were martyred, but we betrayed those who were martyred but still the commitment is not fulfilled and we are ending up as a directionless nation. ![]()
