Times Remembered
There is at least one man in Pakistan who is not going around blowing his own trumpet and is putting his time to good use by writing books about many well-known people he came close to. Besides being an accomplished ad man, a communicator, a columnist, a TV host, a filmmaker, a social worker and so many other things, Javed Jabbar has written books about when he was a minister in Benazir Bhutto’s cabinet and later in General Musharraf’s cabinet. Perhaps he should also write about his encounter with Kirk Douglas at a one-on-one level or the hard time he gave to BBC HardTalk interviewer Sarah Montague.
High Pitch
Looks like dark days are over for TV anchor Jasmine Manzoor and she is back to her old self, this time on BOL TV. Here she melds well with her surroundings. Her style is to speak in a high-pitched voice and this perfectly suits the BOL TV style too.
Royal Love
The first look of Pakistani superstar, Humayun Saeed, in the forthcoming season of the royal drama The Crown, has finally been unveiled. Saeed plays Dr. Hasnat, the late Princess Diana’s rumoured lover in the fifth instalment of the show.
Blind Alley
It is obvious the Indian film industry has run into a glamour famine and is having to rely on people like Nora Fatehi, the Canadian girl from Morocco, who still has to hit the Hindi screen in a big way since most of her present work is based on Telugu films. The Indian glamour scene seems to have gone dry and most available oomph material has had enough of showing off their wares and earning millions.
